Somatic & Hakomi Techniques
Somatic therapy recognizes the deep connection between mind and body, using body-based awareness as a pathway to healing. Rather than focusing solely on thoughts or emotions, somatic techniques invite clients to notice physical sensations, posture, breath, and movement patterns that may hold unconscious material or reflect past experiences.
Hakomi, a mindfulness-centered somatic approach, integrates principles from Eastern philosophy, neuroscience, and experiential psychology. In Hakomi, we slow down and gently observe present-moment experiences, creating a compassionate space where unconscious beliefs can emerge and be explored. Both somatic and Hakomi methods support clients in developing deeper self-awareness, releasing long-held patterns of tension or trauma, and fostering a greater sense of integration and internal safety.
